Day 1

Arrive in Nairobi. I will personally greet you at Nairobi International airport with our drivers and transfer to our first night luxury accommodation The Boma Hotel. There are no scheduled activities for the first afternoon/evening, so you can recover from your long flight as you please. Maybe you will enjoy a massage at the spa, relax by the swimming pool or have a drink at the bar. Dinner is not included and is at your own expense. Some options are room service, enjoy a meal at The Boma Nairobi’s in-house restaurant, Johari Restaurant, or I could recommend some great restaurants around Nairobi you may enjoy.

Day 2

After an early breakfast our drivers will pick us up from The Boma Hotel at 6.30am and depart for Nairobi National Park. This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few kilometres from Nairobi’s bustling city centre, despite its proximity, many different species of mammals. Of the big 5 only elephant is absent from this park. There is a large number of both black and white rhino and cape buffalo. Also found in this park is lion, leopard, cheetah, masai giraffe, ostrich, Thompsons gazelle, zebra and much more.

 

We depart the park at approximately 10.30am and drive to David Sheldrack Elephant Orphanage where we will spend 1 hour watch and photograph the baby elephants at feeding time and play together in the mud pool. At 12pm we take a short drive to Nairobi Giraffe Centre. A giraffe sanctuary where we handfeed and take photos of and with the famous Rothschild giraffes. We the transfer to Kenya’s best known restaurants Carnivore restaurant. We then return back to the Boma.

Day 3

After an early morning hotel breakfast, we depart Nairobi at 7.30 and take a approximately 4 hour drive to Amboseli National Park which is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape and open plains. After entering to park gates we take a short game drive to Ol Tukai Lodge where we check in, have lunch and a short rest. At 4pm we take out afternoon game drive in search for Amboseli’s popular residents like its well-known predators such as lion, hyena and cheetah, as well as its high population of zebra, ostrich, wildebeest, elephant, buffalo and giraffe.

Day 4

After an early breakfast we depart for our morning game drive at 7.30 am. At approximately 10.30 am we will arrive at the Masai Village. We will learn about the masai culture and have a short tour of the village. We will also visit the masai school and markets. We return to Ol Tukai Lodge for lunch around midday.

We spend our afternoon at the lodge where we participate in some of the activities available at the lodge.  We take some free time where we can have a swim, drink by the bar or just relax.

Day 5

After breakfast we get transferred to Amboseli air strip where we take our flight to the Masai Mara. We arrive at Mara Keekorock Airstrip at approximately 11.30 am where we are greeted by two new drivers and switch from 4×4 vans to 4×4 land rover safari vehicles. We have a drive approximately 1 hour to our next accommodation Mara Sopa Lodge where we spend the next 3 nights. We arrive in time for a buffet lunch and have some time to relax. We leave for our afternoon game drive at 16:00 hours in search for wildlife. We return at 18.30 hours.

Day 6

After an early morning buffet breakfast we depart for our first full day game drive in the Masai Mara at 7.30 hours. We drive through the Masai Mara towards the Mara River which is home to hippopotamus and some of the largest nile crocodile in the world. Along the way we search for Lion, leopard, cheetah, black rhino, cape buffalo, elephant, wildebeest, warthog and many other mammals and bird species we may come across. We have a packed lunch out on the Mara plains before heading back to the lodge arriving around 16.00 hours. We take some time to relax at the lodge.

Day 7

Today you will have two options. Either you can start your day the same as the last, have an early breakfast and begin a full day game drive at 7.30 hours or you can take a hot air balloon across the savannah at sunrise followed by a champagne bush breakfast (an additional $500) Our drivers will pick up those who took the balloon safari and we will continue our game drive to the Mara River.

Day 8

After breakfast we check out of Mara Sopa Lodge and depart for Lake Nakuru. We arrive at the luxury Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for a divine buffet lunch. At 16.00 hours we take our first game drive at Lake Nakuru. Black and white rhinos thrive in the surrounding national park, which also has its fair share of Cape buffalo, leopard, hyena, zebra, eland, waterbuck, lion and the highly endangered Rothschild Giraffe.

Day 9

After breakfast we leave for our morning game drive at 7.30 am and spend a good 5 hours looking for Lake Nakuru’s resident lion, leopard, rhinoceros, hyena, cape buffalo and many other majestic animals. We return to the lodge around noon for lunch and time to relax. Later at 16:00 hours we go for another game drive returning at 18:30 hours.

Day 10

After breakfast we check out of our lodge at 7.30 hours and take our final game drive departing Lake Nakuru for Nairobi at approximately 10.00 hours. At about midday, we arrive in Nairobi for lunch. This is where the tour ends. If you have an afternoon flight we can transfer you to Nairobi International Airport. Or if you wish to stay in Nairobi for a little longer we can transfer you to a hotel.
